Murungai Keerai Poriyal (Drumstick leaves stir fry)

Easy & Healthy Murungai Keerai Poriyal




  Preparation Time : 15 mins | Cooking Time : 10 Mins |   Serves : 2-3

  Ingredients:

  •     Drumstick leaves- 1 bunch
  •     Small onion- 10 Or  Regular Onion-1
  •     Red chili- 2
  •     Salt to taste
  •     Oil- 1 tsp (Sesame oil)
  •     Coconut- 2 tbp
  •     Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
  •     Urad dal- 1/4 tsp

How to make: 

  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and when the oil is shimmering, add in the mustard seeds, dry red chillies and urad dal. Let it splutter and wait till the dal turns golden brown.
  • Add in the finely chopped onions and the salt. Saute till the onions are soft and slightly brown.
  • Add in the cleaned, washed and dried drumstick leaves. Saute in medium flame until all the moisture has escaped and the mixture is completely dry.
  • Turn off the stove/Gas range and Add in the shredded coconut and saute briefly for a minute. 
  • Serve hot with rice.
