Pepper Chicken

Easy Pepper Chicken


Preparation Time
 : 30 mins | Cooking Time : 30 Mins |   Serves : 2-3

Ingredients:

500 gms chicken boneless cut into medium pieces
2-3 tbsp. oil
2 onions chopped
Handful of curry leaves
2 green chilies slit
2 tbsp. garlic-ginger paste
1 tomato chopped
1 tsp. turmeric powder
2 tbsp. coriander powder
1 tbsp. cumin powder
1 tbsp. garam masala powder
salt
1 tsp of red chilli powder
2 tbsp. pepper powder, coarsely ground
1/2 juice of lime
handful coriander leaves chopped
yogurt for marination

How to Make: 

  • Wash and Marinate the chicken with salt, red chilli powder, yogurt, G&G paste at least for 30 mins  
  • Heat oil in a kadai/wok on medium flame, add finely chopped onions and sauté till onions turn soft.

  • Once the onions are soft, add ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell of the paste is gone. Add curry leaves and mix well.

  • At this stage add finely chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turn soft and mushy. This will take about 3-4 minutes. 

  • Now add the marinated chicken and let it cook for 5 minutes. Add all the spice powders- cumin powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, crushed pepper or pepper powder and salt and add the green chilles.

  • Mix the Pepper Chicken and cook for another 5 minutes. 

  • Now add about 1/4 cup water. Cover and cook till the  Pepper Chicken is fully cooked and all water is evaporated. Once done, check the salt and spices and adjust accordingly.

  • Hot, spicy, flavourful Pepper Chicken is ready to be served.
